ANASTASIA
Forensic mining and analytical metric for the detection of people in psychological distress for the prevention of mass killings
Mass killings in schools or public places are events that cause consternation. Few studies have been done on these phenomena that are listed since the last hundred years. In the majority of cases, the killer took his own life after committing his fatal actions which makes it difficult to analyze clues they leave (letters, testimonies, traces ...)
In 2006, Anastasia De Sousa perished by the bullets of a crazed killer. He had, for several weeks, left clues that can be described as first attacks, which seems a constant in this type of event.
This project, named Anastasia, aims to develop an innovative technology in computer forensics to prevent this type of event. By mining the web, can we define analytical metrics to detect early signs of attacks and the intellectual impression of those sick individuals before they act?
